The novel primarily revolved around the struggles of two teenagers named Violet Markey and Theodore Finch. Violet is a teen who faces the trauma of her sister’s recent death. Theodore is also a teen, and cannot find a reason to live. Both are struggling to make it in the world. They both work on a project together in which they go on adventures to different places in Indiana. The adventures serve as a way for both of them to heal and overcome the sadness, while falling in love. My favorite character is Theodore because he helped Violet become better, while facing his own issues. I would rate this book 10 out of 10 and would recommend it.

The following novel focuses on a teenage girl named Alexis Riggs. She was recently traumatized by her brother’s suicide, and is also dealing with her parents’ divorce. Her personal diary entries help tell her story, explaining how her life has fallen apart. She is no longer in a relationship with her boyfriend, Steve. She has also distanced herself from her friends. Soon, she begins to feel the presence of her late brother around her. This drives her to find out the details about the reason for his suicide- revealed in a text message her brother sent her before his death. My favorite character is Alexis because she really showed affection and care for her brother, as the older sister. I would rate this book a 10 out of 10, and recommend it to to friends because it was a very intriguing and emotional novel.

This book is a story about a girl named Alexis, whose brother (Tyler) committed suicide. To help deal with her overwhelming grief, her therapist suggests Lex write in a journal. Though reluctant at first, Lex starts to write down her thoughts, feelings, and everything in between in the journal. It is useful to vent about her complicated family, social life, and love life. When Lex starts to see her dead brother’s ghost, she is compelled to figure out exactly why Tyler decided to shoot himself in their garage. In order to do this Lex digs deep into her brother’s life and discovers another side of him. I would recommend this book to my friends because it is a very unique story. The Last Time We Say Goodbye is a great novel for people who don’t mind shedding a few tears. I give this book a 10 out of 10.
